As previously reported, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods left WWE at the beginning of the month after declining a contract restructuring that would have resulted in a pay cut. They are anticipated to be free agents by the first weekend in August, and sources within AEW have expressed a strong desire to bring them into the company.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, an AEW source is optimistic about the possibility that Kingston and Woods will at least wrestle a match for AEW. Additionally, several AEW wrestlers have shown interest in collaborating with them.
It was also reported that Kingston and Woods are now using the names Kofi and Austin Creed, and these names will be featured during their appearance at GalaxyCon later this month. Earlier this week, it was noted that they have more convention dates scheduled, which have yet to be announced, and they are expected to be a significant draw for such appearances.
