Pro Wrestling Legend “The Masked Assassin” Jody Hamilton Passed Away At The Age Of 82

Former WWE and WCW referee Nick Patrick (Joe Hamilton Jr.) recently took to his Facebook and revealed that his father, pro wrestling legend “The Masked Assassin” Jody Hamilton passed away last Tuesday at 2:16PM at the age of 82. Prior to passing away, the wrestling legend had reportedly been placed under hospice care, according to Rick Knopf on Facebook, which was later confirmed by PWInsider.com.

Back in 1955, Jody Hamilton made his pro wrestling debut and has since worked for several promotions. After suffering a career-ending back injury, Jody Hamilton retired from wrestling in 1988. Jody would then take on a number of managerial roles for WCW, then later worked as a trainer at the Power Plant.

In 2005, Jody Hamilton re-launched his Deep South Wrestling promotion and shortly after, DSW would be operated as a WWE developmental promotion until 2007. Jody Hamilton was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame in 1994, and into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013.
