Rick Boogs And Shinsuke Nakamura Forms An Alliance On Last Night’s SmackDown

Last night's episode of SmackDown featured the debut of NXT Superstar Rick Boogs (Eric Bugenhagen) to the blue brand when he made his way out with his electric guitar and interrupted a pre-match promo by King Corbin, declaring that he came to rock with the real King of SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura.

Nakamura then made his way down to the ring, still wearing the crown of King Corbin he stole the week prior, while Boogs played Nakamura's entrance theme with his guitar. The Singles Match between Corbin and Nakamura then ended with Nakamura getting a pinfall victory over Corbin, with Boogs watching from ringside and playing his guitar a number of times, which impressed Pat McAfee by performing on top of the announce table.

As previously reported, last week’s episode of SmackDown saw Corbin beat Nakamura, but Nakamura stole his crown after the match, and has been showing it off all week. It seems that the name of Rick Boogs has been changed by WWE as the company has changed the way it is spelled. Rick Boogs' name used to be spelled “Rik Bugez” but last night on WWE SmackDown, Rick and the WWE have noted that “Rick Boogs” is now the correct spelling.

Boogs made his last appearance for the WWE when he played the role of Old Spice representative Joseph Average in the video vignettes for Old Spice’s WrestleMania 37 sponsorship. Boogs even became the WWE 24/7 Champion twice in those video vignettes.

There's no word yet on what the WWE has planned for Nakamura and Boogs moving forward, but once there are updates, it will be provided.
