TNA's upcoming PPV - Slammiversary - will still run on the same day (June 28) as the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV but the two events won't be going head-to-head anymore.
The start time for TNA Slammiversary is now scheduled for 3 PM ET according to the Agganis Arena in Boston while AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door takes place at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA but with a start time of 7 PM ET. That would more or less avoid any direction competition between the two.
The PPVs landing on the same day adds another layer to the growing competition between the two wrestling promotions that seemingly reached a fever pitch last month when TNA President Carlos Silva pulled his wrestlers from scheduled indie events where they were booked to wrestle AEW talent.
Rumors suggested that Silva was unhappy that AEW ran Collision against Impact on specific Thursdays and he ended up confirming those reports in an interview with Busted Open Radio where he also claimed that AEW had blocked TNA from some venues where they wanted to run. It was noted though that AEW moving Collision to Thursdays was a WBD decision to prevent a scheduling conflict with the NCAA March Madness tournament.
