WWE NXT Quick Recap for 5/4/2021

Matches Tonight: 5
  • Our first match of the night was a Falls Count Anywhere match between Leon Ruff and Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, who picked up the win with some assistance.
  • Our second match was short but highly entertaining as Cameron Grimes defeated a very impressive newcomer named Asher Hale (Anthony Henry is his name in the indies.)
  • Timothy Thatcher & Tommaso Ciampa defeated the Grizzled Young Veterans in a very entertaining match.
  • Sarray defeated newcomer Zayda Rammier in a great match that saw both women put on an incredibly strong match.
  • In a main event street fight for the NXT Women's Championship, The Way (Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell) defeated Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart to become the new champions.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • A brawl broke out between Karrion Kross, Finn Balor, "Cool" Kyle O'Reilly and Pete Dunne. Security separated them after Kross cleaned house. Kross took out a security guard with a Doomsday Saito before being ambushed by Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano. Gargano struck Kross in the head with the North American title to lay out the NXT Champion. Next week, Theory has to face Kross.
  • A few dozen backstage segments, nothing of note if it's not noted here.
  • Legado Del Fantasma challenged MSK to a tag title match, and Escobar challenged Kushida to a Cruiserweight title match.
  • Next week will see NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez taking on recent rival Mercedes Martinez in her first title defense.
  • A little dog pooped in Shotzi's entrance tank/cart thing. I mean, at least it was kind of an interesting backstage segment, yeah?
