WWE Reportedly Considered Putting NXT Star Solo Sikoa With The Usos Prior To His NXT Debut

WWE NXT Star Solo Sikoa (Joseph Fatu), the younger brother of Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso and the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, would sign with the WWE last year and would make his WWE NXT debut shortly after, but Sikoa recently spoke with BT Sport and revealed that before making his WWE NXT debut, WWE considered putting him with The Usos on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, but he felt that this is his time now and he doesn't want to be recognized as The Usos' brother.

Sikoa also revealed that he wants fans to recognize him as Solo and he wants to do things on his own.

Solo Sikoa said:

“You know, at the end of the day man, it’s so easy to go back to, ‘I’m their brother, I’m their family.’ I don’t want to be referred to as their brother, their cousin, I want people to recognize me for me. Before I debuted on TV, WWE creative was like ‘we’ll put you with your brothers’. Then the next meeting was like ‘let’s see what you can do on your own.’I felt like ‘this is my time now. This is the time for fans to recognize me as Solo instead of your Jimmy and Jey.’ Before man, I had black hair, we all really did look alike. Again, nine months later, people know oh that’s Solo, that ain’t Jimmy and Jey.”

Solo Sikoa also talked about how it would have been okay to be with The Usos on WWE SmackDown, but he would feel like he was in their shadows, so he needs to step out and just do him.

Solo Sikoa said:

“I would say, ‘okay that would be cool.’ I think that was when they started saying ‘we’re the ones.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know man.’ I would still feel like I was in their shadows, I need to step out and do me man.”
